Your Pet is Our Priority
.4/2/2020
We wanted to give an update all of our clients on the current status of the clinic and the veterinary world.
As per the American Veterinary Medical Association, "While 2 dogs (Hong Kong) and 1 cat (Belgium) have been reported to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets spread COVID-19 to other animals, including people."
We continue to be open for the care of your pets. The clinic is following the protocols below. We are also working our hardest to conserve personal protective equipment to make sure the availability is there for the human side of medicine.
We are curbing some procedures deemed elective but please call to see if those apply to your pet's situation.
If you have any questions or concerns, we are here for you!
COVID-19 UPDATE
We want to reassure our clients that we are considered an essential business and therefore are open.
In this unprecedented time, we are adapting to new procedures in order to maintain the safety of our clients, pets and staff, so we can continue to provide the care your pet needs. We are following recommendations by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association to practice safely during this time.
IF YOUR PET IS HAVING A TRUE EMERGENCY, PLEASE TAKE YOUR PET DIRECTLY TO VSEC (215-750-7884) OR CARES (215-750-2774) AS OUR NEW POLICIES CAN DELAY THE TIME NEEDED TO SEE A CRITICALLY ILL PATIENT.
In order to limit direct contact, we are putting the following policies in place:
1) If you are sick, we ask that you have a healthy family member or friend bring your pet;
2) All appointments need to be made by phone, including sick pets;
3) All refills of medication and foods must be called into the office; we will not be letting clients into the clinic to allow for distancing:
4) When you arrive, you will need to call the office so a staff member can come out and meet you at your car. Please don't come up to the doors and wait there as we are following the recommendations of the CDC for distancing;
5) The staff member will get all relevant information regarding your pet and bring ONLY your pet into the clinic. If you are here for medications or food, a staff member will bring it to you;
6) A veterinarian will examine your pet then you will be called to discuss exam findings, recommendations and estimates for their care;
7) Your pet will be treated, then returned to you at your car by a staff member;
8) We ask that you pay by credit/debit card by phone if possible. If that is not possible, the staff member will take your form of payment at the car, process your payment and bring your invoice and any change back to you at your car.
If you feel that you have special circumstances that prevent you from following the above policies, you will need to call the office first to speak with one of the veterinarians or head technician to discuss this first.
We want to make sure that we can take care of your pet while maintaining the health of you and our staff.
We appreciate your understanding at this time.
Our pets are such an important part of our families. It is our commitment to work with you to provide the best veterinary care for them so they can have a great life. Our services are designed to assist in routine veterinary preventive care for young, healthy pets: early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and medical, dental and surgical care needed during their lifetime. Our goal is to give your pet the best life possible!
